Hello all - new member here

#1 Post by Geek »

Hello all,

Have looked at the site a few times and decided to register.

Obtained my SGC about 12 months ago and took up clay shooting, have had one clay lesson at Worsley but think I need more!

Many of the other shooter also own section 1 certificates and after tying the small bore and full bore decided to apply for my section 1 which I have had for about two weeks.

Now the big question what to buy - but that's another post.

Hi Geek, and welcome aboard. Nice to see you joining the dark side!

What Conditions did you get on your FAC? I'm assuming it's not for target shooting as you don't mention club membership. Do consider getting a connection to target shooting - when you want to try something under controlled conditions, a target range is the place to go, and it can be difficult if you don't have membership anywhere.

I am a member of a target shooting club (its mentioned in my profile) - only tried the 25m indoor range at the moment - .22LR / .38 / .357.

The club has access to a quarry for full bore centre fire which I would like to try.

My certificate includes:
.22LR + moderator x 3 (logic being - 1No each of tactical, semi auto rifle style and bolt action)
223/5.56 bolt action
.38 / .357 under-lever
9mm long barrelled pistol (I did ask for this to be push release lever - will change when required)

Geek,

Is that Chadderton as in the home of the Lancaster bomber? If it is then let me know if you want to explore the delights of Altcar (Liverpool).
