The penultimate matches in the Civilian Service Rifle winter league is on Sunday 3rd March.
Entry form and course of fire on the NRA site Entry Form here
If you have a full bore rifle that has a 10 round (or more) magazine capacity then you could enter. Rifle classes as below;
HISTORIC – “Any SMLE / No. 4 / No. 5 rifle, service pattern as issued, with no attachments”.
ANY IRON – “Any rifle with iron sights, with no restriction on slings (but rests may not be used)”.
SERVICE OPTIC – “Any rifle with optic sights (4.5 max magnification) with no restriction on slings. Rests may not be used. The rifle magazine may touch or rest on the forearm or on the ground. (Any forward vertical grip, if fitted, may not be used).”
PRACTICAL OPTIC - "Any rifle with optic sights, with no restriction on slings or rests. If any rest is utilised it must remain fitted to the rifle at all times during the match".
Full definition of the classes, including trigger weights, can be found in the NRA Rules of Shooting, section 65, page 90, which is also available on the NRA website.
All shooters have one to one supervision and if you're a new to CSR you will be well briefed at each stage. However knowing your rifle and elevations helps 'cos there are not sighters at every distance. Suitable clothing & waterproof boots essential and leave the shooting mat at home 'cos if you use it you are carrying with you on the "fire & movement" stages.
See you all on right hand side 300yd car park 7-30am on the 3rd ?

For anyone considering this who's not been before, it's well worth bimbling along to - once they get over the shock of you arriving with a No.4 over your shoulder! :lol:
Hoping to be there again on the 3rd, was a good laugh with a good crowd last time.
