Belated Hello from Wiltshire
Well, I received my FAC a couple of days ago and thought now would be a good time for a belated official “Hello”. I messed up earlier by making my first post in the wrong section! My excuse is that, most times, I find the site difficult to navigate. Usually, pages just hang. I found a work around by waiting a bit, clicking the back arrow then the forward arrow in my browser. I’ve tried both MS Explorer and Firefox, but it still seems to happen. Maybe it’s just me.
So anyway, “hello”. I’m based in Wiltshire and am a member of North Wilts. As I mentioned, I’ve just got my FAC.
The whole process from posting the application to having a shiny new FAC in my hand was 5 weeks and a day. After the home visit the FEO said the FAC would be here in 1-2 weeks. Of course, I was expecting it every day for two weeks. At the end of two weeks, I phoned up to see if there was a problem and was told it had been sent a couple of days ago, but, hang on, the date is wrong! So, the nice people printed off another one and brought it to my door the next day, and took away the old one, which arrived that morning. Actually, it means I get a few days extra for free!
Having heard storied of items being left off, or listed incorrectly, I checked the ticket and, hurrah, it was all there!

I’ve already made a start filling the slots. I can’t wait to try them out.

That is a handy list of things to shoot, welcome to the forum
Re: Belated Hello from Wiltshire
Thank you for the welcomes
The only thing that I was a bit surprised by was that he reduced my .22 buy/hold to 500/600, the same as the other calibers. I mean, 500 .308 is going to last a lot longer than 500 .22! But, he did say I could ask to increase it at a later date.
I know, I was quite surprised. The muzzle loader was added as an after thought. I was having a read of Gun Mart just before the visit and I noticed the Vortek .50 cal pistol in an advertisement. At the end of the interview, the FEO asked if I wanted anything else and the Vortek popped into my mind so he added it to my list. :)ovenpaa wrote:That is a handy list of things to shoot, welcome to the forum

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!
