Section 1 shotguns for PSG
Halodin's just sent me the link for the VEPR-12:
http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/firearms_vepr12.htm
I'm tempted - but they charge £99 per 8 round magazine! I'd need another 4 for PSG - basically adding £400 to an already over priced gun.
There's still a Saiga on gunstar, only £900 with mags, but it's just a 20g. If that was a 12g for that money it'd already be in my cabinet.
Still, either's a pretty close way to own a UK legal AK. You can even get them with wood stocks if that floats your boat.
I'm tied between buying something cheaper, something likely to be more competitive for PSG or getting something less competitive, but perhaps more fun to own and shoot - something silly like the VEPR, Saiga or maybe even something like the Akdal (AR-15 clone) or SPAS-12 etc.
Any opinions?

Re: Section 1 shotguns for PSG
Hmm, seems horrifically priced for what it is...
Fun though.

Yep, if they removed the "1" from the price it'd be well worth it.meles meles wrote:Hmm, seems horrifically priced for what it is...

Admittedly cheap quality, but you can get brand new 'Miltary / Police' spec. tactical shotguns from Hatsan for about £425 brand new.
Re: Section 1 shotguns for PSG
Too tempting, I need to stop looking at it before I start thinking about buying one. Still, it might be worth eating beans for...HALODIN wrote:Just look at it... clapclap
Re: Section 1 shotguns for PSG
I'd have the Akdal. In fact, I will have the Akdal when my FEO let's me have a second slot for a S1 shotgun. Still got a bunch of other bang sticks to buy first though :)
Re: Section 1 shotguns for PSG
Can you buy the Spas 12 in civilian form......used one a few times before, the Micheal Cain phrase springs to mind about the bloody doors .
Re: Section 1 shotguns for PSG
Have they started making larger capacity mags for the Akdal, last I heard they were only making 5 rounders....and get a service kit too (firing pins, springs whatever can break) when or if you buy one. You might have a wait if it breaks..just a thought..
Mate of mine has a Spas 12 S1..weighs a ton...

I have a mint condition SPAS 12 but only bought it for fun, don't really use it for PSG. OP I take it you know the one's you are looking at will put you in open class with all the big boys.Dahonis wrote:Can you buy the Spas 12 in civilian form......used one a few times before, the Micheal Cain phrase springs to mind about the bloody doors .

Yeah, I know. To be honest I'll probably be in last whatever cat i'm in - so i may as well get max enjoyment from the gun i'm using. :)lasbrisas wrote:I have a mint condition SPAS 12 but only bought it for fun, don't really use it for PSG.
