When RG ammo was used for the Imperial, people complained about the quality and consistency of it and threatened to stop taking part - Now quality ammo is being provided people are complaining that it's too expensive...and if it was changed to any/own ammo there'd be even more complaints about that...

Hi Gaz, so you do your own marking at Camp Perry, c'mon now that's hardly a hardship, is it? Don't know what you mean about being left stranded on the range all day, I've shot camp Perry three times and I've never felt or been left stranded on the range all day and personally I think it's run most efficiently in a nice relaxed family atmosphere. But hey that's just the way I see it, I'm not trying to put the Imperial shoot down, far from it, just saying that the prices may be out of reach of a lot of shooters who would otherwise compete given the cost of food petrol and board already stated.

I agree with you on the marking and the cost (see my other comments for reference) it's one of the ways of managing down the entry fees for the Imperial.

The comment about being stranded on the range all day came from the GB Rifle Team who were out at Perry last year; however having shot other competitions in the UK (Raton & River Bend GC in Atlanta, GA) I can see where they're coming from. You're out on the range from first thing in the morning until late afternoon and then everyone naffs off. I'm very much hoping to have a shot at shooting Perry in 2015 with GB Palma, but there's a lot of qualifying to do between now and then.

It's rare that I agree with Blu, but I agree with Blu here. Overall, the Imperial is painfully expensive round-for-pound compared to virtually all other competitions.

My local Golf club membership is £1200 a year, then you pay £28 a round. Can we have a petition opposing the previous one? We need the NRA to be financially strong. I am a pensioner by the way and far from rich.

Well it won't be financially strong if people can't afford to shoot!
