FBUK Southwest, Severnside, 29th May

#1 Post by dave_303 »

Well I met with Huntervixen and Raybrown. A wide variety of firearms, and on the whole ok weather, we had a bit of rain, but it was brief, and as the day went on it warmed up and the wind basically stopped. We started at 100 yards and fell back to 200 yards at 2pm.

Got to say this was good for me, the first fullbore shoot I've been to in over 6 months, so please excuse the crap grouping.

I have pics, so it did happen! Hopefully Ray and Hunter will have theirs up soon.

As I've said in a previous thread, I travel gun heavy but kit light.

The bayonet (an Indan Second World War issue) for some reason, I'm assuming poor fitting, would be the 3rd round be making it's own way down range

Weather apart from 10 minute rain shower was good. So good that I managed to get sunburnt on the top of my head as I had left my hat at home.... Doh.....

Evening all,

Well what a cracking day out chaps, the weather turnd out OK in the end and as ever Richard the range owner was the perfect host for a fun Severside away day........and we had cameras this time!!!!

Pleasure to meet you Dave, always glad to meet up with a fellow Milsurp nut and put a another face to a name.

You really have a very fine collection of Mil surps, your MAS36 was a superb rifle to shoot, I really enjoyed it!

Your Weedon escape P14 was also a cracking example of its type (if you ever want to sell her), I really want an M44 now, very nice rifle...gotta love that muzzle flash!! :shakeshout:

Serious AK envy with Rays latest acquisition, what a great fun rifle, definitely on Santas list this year.

All in all....

2x No4 mk2
2x No1 Mk3*
1x L1A1
1x AK
1x MAS36 + A bloody good chat= a great day out!!!
1x M44
1x Spikes M4
1x Sig 522
1x Blaser R93

We must do it again fellas, sorry you couldn't make it Col and Leigh, but lets deploy in numbers next time chaps!

Pics below guys...I will do some more when I get the time

Looks like a cracking day with some nice weather, I really must get a rifle out and do some shooting soon or I will forget which end the noisy bits fit in.

I know its a bit of a trek but you are more than welcome to join us on our next Severnside funday. :) Always plenty of interesting bits of wood and steel to be seen.
