Sporting Services have just released some AI/AE based Open rifles chambered in .260 Rem if that helps any. The .260 is reasonably popular however the owners tend to love them and accordingly hang onto them..

As it happens I have just had a good chat with Tom at Sporting Services.
The AX,nice as it is,is right out my price range.
I dont particularly like the thumbhole stocks on the others but now know the AE3 can come fitted with a pistol grip.
Looking at around £3k.
I was originally going for a Tikka t3 stainless varmint but having spoken to the importers none available and 6 to 9 months!
Looked at the Savage arms but again none available and as its US made could only imagine how long that would take!
Spoke to a custom rifle builder and that was around £3k.
Remington dont seem to make a 700 in 260 anymore!
I think the AE is looking very good at the moment!

AE MKIII unless you can pony up or need the extra for the AX. The basics are all the same which makes the AE a popular choice. DTA SRS can also come in .260 Rem or 6.5 Creedmoor which is almost identical and increasingly popular.
