hatsan+1 then. Had an S1 semi auto for ages, never missed a beat, unlike some Benelli's I saw.

Hatsan's are ok for PSG, but not ideal.

Their 'fast loading system' - where the bolt release is built into the shell lifter is fiddly. The MPA has a fixed 7+1 capacity and ghost ring sights, which are pretty useless for anything other than slug.

Hatstand's are still good value for money. If I could start over, I'd buy a standard Escort PS, with a 26" ribbed barrel, fit the MPA pistol grip stock and a mag extension, taking it to about 10+1.

Money no object, I'd get the VEPR - 12, loads of mags and a decent red dot.

I've got one of those - but cannot find where to load it!

Far from it. Ghost ring sights on a shotgun are outstanding, if you can use them properly. I've even shot clays with my Benelli and it's ghost ring...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

I find that the sight obscures a lot of the sight picture. With a rib, you have an unobstructed view of your complete field of vision (other than the barrel...), leading to faster target acquisition for me, when shooting PSG.

How does that equate to me not using them properly? I don't see any professional clay shooters using ghost ring sights, and very few using them for PSG at the clubs I've been to.

Mikaveli has covered most of what you need to know. Also be careful any gun you buy doesn't have a ported barrel as that would bump you into Modified division (Standard division is where the action is at!)

The only semi's i'd recommend for PSG because i've either used them or seen them reliably used for years are (in order)

Benelli M2
Remington 1100
Winchester SX3 (But you've got to like cleaning guns!)

I wouldn't go near a Hatsan until they've fixed* the loading gate.

*Removed their craziness and use the tried and tested simple lifter that EVERYONE else uses on their shotguns.

The new Beretta 1301 arrives into the UK this week...has to be a serious contender.

Seems to work well for this guy, are magazine extension tubes available for them though?

The UK version comes 9+1 as standard with an oversized bolt charging handle and bolt release.

You can see a bit more here and it will cost £1,100

Not sure about Hatsan ghost rings but the ones on that CZ HC-P are brilliant. Very fast acquisition and spot on out of the box, even at 50 yards. All I need now is a new set of peepers to get the best from them.
