Hi,

I started shooting airguns and my grandfather's 12 bore as a youth. I have a FAC and I'm a member of North Cotes Butts (12 years), a friendly club on the east coast of Lincolnshire, near Grimsby.

I'm into target shooting: 308/223/22; muzzle loading: musket and revolver; and pigeon shooting.

Keen to support young shots (my daughter is a pretty good shot).

Welcome to the forum, young shooters are important as they are the future of our sport so well done for involving your daughter. We will be out this weekend with my son who has been shooting with me since he was 14/14. He is 30 years old now.

Thanks. She's 16 and shoots very well. My other daughter is 13 and wants to have a go. I think before the end of the school summer holidays we will have accomplished this. Lincolnshire, being rural has a strong shooting heritage so we accept shooting as a safe sport for young people to encourage responsibility.

Alan, thank you, I refer to it as a Journal but really it is just a diary I choose to share with a few people, as long as it is not referred to by the 'B' word I am happy.

The downside of young shooters is they have young eyes as well and tend to shoot rather well. We were at the Imperial recently and it was brilliant to see so many young shooters wandering past with rifles over their shoulders heading off to shoot a competition.
