One of the team recently suggested that since the gardening, Stickledown was shooting a bit like Raton.

My scores have certainly suffered on Stickledown.

The thing is, there is wind and wind, a little wind that IS tricky (ideally thermal related gusts, so it is localised and pops up anywhere and neigh on impossible to read) or a stiff constant breeze....I know which one I prefer.

Well done to the GB team! - Some excellent shooting, and respectable scores...especially when you consider the competition...

...though I don't think our Tim will be satisfied...

I spoke to ENS (Tim) today and he tells me the wind is very challenging, his take is the flags are a log lighter than at Bisley so quick to twitch and he has had to recalibrate the way he reads them. He seems to be getting to grips with it though which is good and we have a very strong F/TR team so fingers crossed for a good result.

Some fine shooting there all round, in all fairness to the GB team one has to keep in mind that US shooters have the advantage of shooting when they want and if they want. They aren't hampered with the range rules that the UK has such as booking ranges and needing RCO's in attendance along with the other stuff shooters in the UK have.

Good luck to all the shooters involved in the competition.

Derek Rodgers (Team Sinclair) is the 2013 U.S. National F-TR Champion. Posting a 1270-44X final score, Derek edged runner-up Lige Harris (1268-44X) by two (2) points, both men finishing with identical X-counts. John Chilton was third with 1264-35X, with Trudie Fay (1263-33X) and James Crofts (1261-33X) rounding out the top five. Lige finished as High Senior, while Trudie was the High Lady.
