Voyager 1 Has Left Our Solar System

I was just reading about Voyager 1 leaving our solar system and heading off into deep space. Some of the photos it has already sent back are truly stunning and worth 10 minutes for a look. I for one look forward to what it sends back in the future although according to the article both Voyagers will run out of juice around 2025.

, voyager is so small that an alien craft would literally have to bump into it to find it.

It's exciting news. Interesting to see what we learn about the Oort cloud from now on.

But that's a part of the whole idea, putting ourselves out there in the hope of making something happen. I believe the need to explore is in us all to some degree or other, it's a part of what makes us who we are as a species, we're naturally curious. IIRC I was reading an article a while back that warp drive engines may not be a dream after all, could you imagine that?

we really should be cracking on with space exploration tbh. when we screw up this planet, we will need it. it's disaster recovery for the human race.

I remember reading an article many many years ago about the challenges of upgrading the Voyager 1 operating system as it moved further and further away from us. Fascinating article and well before the days of Windows 95!
