Yeah welcome aboard, a lovely long full Bore range would be a fabulous addition up here, best of luck to you.

Re: Greetings from the Kintyre Peninsula
That has to be one of the smartest indoor civilian ranges in the UK. Would almost make the drive across there worthwhile.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
Re: Greetings from the Kintyre Peninsula
If you're going to have the USN SEAL indoor range, then that'll definitely be worth the trip over.
Re: Greetings from the Kintyre Peninsula
Thanks Mike,
You can see why we worked so hard to secure it can't you?
We're safety certified for metal targets too - looking forward to getting the duelling trees and Mini McQueen targets out...

Re: Greetings from the Kintyre Peninsula
Northumbrian,
The range is just as nice as it looks, I guess all thanks to USA Taxpayers.
For our part we've pushed the target line back a bit to get a true 25m and we still have over 2m of vertical target face under the 20mm Armour Plate angled backstop. Each lane is safety certified for 1 or 2 shooters (should be fun!), we have wiring from behind the firing line to the target area (think turning targets, pop-ups, McQueens etc.), each firing bay has individually dimmable lighting and the air handling system would blow your hat off if we turned it up high.
We're creating a nice comfy "Club Room" with all the amenities on tap including a door through to the Landrail Firearms Gun Shop & Armoury.
Oh, and each lane is getting CCTV looking both-ways so folk in the club room can see what's going on at the targets and the firing points.
No wonder I'm knackered...

Re: Greetings from the Kintyre Peninsula
That does sound good, how's the accommodation near by? It would make a great short break for shooters. My club full bore ceases until about March at this time of year so I'm itching to source other venues.
Re: Greetings from the Kintyre Peninsula
Sounds, like you are going to have one of the premier indoor ranges in the UK, I am going to have to try and get over to the UK sometime.
It's going to be well worth the visit.

Visiting the area over the weekend -- cannot bring any toys this time, but interested for the future. Is it up and running, and are guest shooters (with FAC) permitted?
