I'm after a sporterised rifle in .303 must be in excellent overall condition and have provision for scope fitting.

Or you could scurry on over to Highwood Classic arms and take a peek at 4 or 5 that Simon has for sale, including this one

That kind of thing but not with a crappy synthetic stock, I'm after more of a period piece I can shoot the classic running deer and sporting rifle comps.

If it's of any help, I own a No.4 Parker Hale like the ones featured on Highwood's site. Mine retains it's original rear sight.
I will vouch for their quality as guns, accurate as hell!

Those BSA No1 Gentleman's sporters really are super looking rifles aren't they, I really like the flattened Cavalry Carbine bolt handles. Does yours have an inscribed retailer or owners address?

A friend of mine bought a real minter, the type with the barrel rib, looking forward to having a shoot with it in the spring.
