Hello everybody. I actually joined the forum a couple of months ago, never realising we were supposed to introduce ourselves.
I joined the Canadian Forces in the early 70s so I could shoot. My father would never allow guns in the house - so if I wanted to shoot, I had to find another route. Served 22+ years in the CF, retired and moved to NZ where I spent another 17+ years in the NZ Army. I have shot in military competitions in the pistol, sub-machine gun (back when we had them - before the era of the C7 (M16)) and sniper rifle disciplines and including the CF Small Arms Championship at Connaught Ranges in Ottawa. Was a keen IPSC shooter for a few years. I also shot in sniper competitions (later renamed 'practical rifle' for obvious political reasons) at the Ontario Rifle Association for a number of years.
Here in NZ I used to do western action shooting, but now I shoot some IPSC, 3-gun, service rifle and a lot of clay birds. Looking to get back into F-Class when I can find the energy to get off my butt and join yet another club (the annual subs for four shooting clubs are beginning to add up to a tidy sum every year - another reason I am not moving too quickly to find a new club!).

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!
