Milsurp 54r and x39.........wil there be a shortage???.

#1 Post by snayperskaya »

I wonder if the crisis in the Ukraine will lead to a shortage of Russian milsurp ammo if there are sanctions placed on Russia?, also does anyone know how much, if any, milsurp ammo comes from Ukranian suppliers?.I know that a lot of Mosin Nagants came from Ukranian stocks, wonder if ammo does too.

We think a lot also comes from Hungary and Czech Republic, so those supplies ought to be safe for a while to come...

Will have no effect at all.

For 2 reasons.

Already tons of it have been imported ( literally tons ) my MANY dealers.

Many sources outside Ukraine / Russia totally unaffected.

WHOLESALE operations.

What you see offered for retail sale in EU is a tiny percentage of what is warehoused.

There are only a few RETAIL UK operations with milsurp in 7.62x39 and 7.62x51r because it is a limited market here - not because of any shortage in supply !!

But those retail outlets will not run out due to the current crisis because their sources ALREADY have a lot in stock.

And those wholesale operations - what they sell to UK retail is a VERY small part of their sales - most goes to USA and Middle East.
