Hello from Newcastle

#1 Post by sherwood81 »

Hi all,

I'm a new member to the site currently living in Newcastle. I've been shooting clay pidgeons for a while now and just recently taken up doing PSG and found it to be a lot of fun.

I completed the UKPSA safety course to get my competition licence this weekend so I'm looking to get a FAC shotgun licence and start competing. I've heard of a few places that do PSG in/near the North East (Mayfair in Sunderland and Carlisle Small Arms Club) but I'm always on the lookout for somewhere local to practice if anyone has any suggestions?

Oh my apologies, up until now I only knew of one place in Chester-le-Street. Do you have a shop there?

I am looking for someone to service my S/A shotgun and give me a quote and/or info for some work I'd like doing. Is that something you do or do you solely deal with trading?

Hello from Consett - I am another local RFD working from home.
If you want practical shotgun then CSAC is the first place to go. There are other clubs around the Borders as well which the UKPSA should be able to advise you of.

Hi

You've already named the two NE venues for PSG
The Mayfair club PSG ground is somewhere close to Durham. Not top secret or anything, I've just never been...Easington or Houghton or some-such area.

Look for posts by Blackstuff as he shoots at all NE venues

Thanks for the info everyone, I will certainly be looking to join at least one of the clubs mentioned. I think Sunderland would be the closest but wasn't sure how frequently they got together for PSG, by the sounds of it they do it quite regularly so that works for me :-)

Sorry I don't do that type of work and there are no gunsmiths in the NE I have used whose work I could recommend.
