Hello from Bristol

#1 Post by LDC1982 »

Hi everyone, My name is Liam, I'm a total newbie and have never shot before but am really interested in taking up outdoor rifle target shooting, After many years playing rugby and cricket my body is looking for a rest, so I thought shooting maybe something worth trying.

I am looking for some advice on clubs in my area. ideally i'd like somewhere local to start (i'm based in north bristol near the seven crossings) then when i'm more confident be able to go further afield. I've contacted Dursley rifle and pistol club but as yet they have not got back to me.

anyway i'll leave my introduction at that. I hope to be asking lots of questions soon.

cheers

Welcome to the sport Liam and just ask away when you have questions. In theory a lot of the answers are here however things change and it is always good to see a new take on things.

Hello and welcome.

The NRA is a good place to start to find a club, they have a club finder service and nearly all full-bore clubs will be affiliated.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

thanks,

I think severnside is my closest fullbore range and i believe dursley rifle & pistol club are based there. I have contacted them and am just waiting on a reply. Although i read somewhere that they only meet the last sunday of every month. I was looking for something a little more regular to keep my interest and enthusiasm up.

Get on it then. Say "Hi" to the next 10 or 15 new members just below you on the new members list, that'll do it.
