I have 2 of the new cmmg mags and they're the worst mag cmmg have made yet, they stick in the mag well going in and coming out, they won't hold more than 15 rounds and feed unreliably. If I hadn't misplaced the packaging, I would have sent them back weeks ago.

What lower are you running? mine seem to go in and back out fine. I think there are only four points of contact on the mag with the mag well, maybe these could be sanded to make them easier to extract.

I use this method to load them and although there is a fair bit of spring pressure they will load 25, but I do find 20 much easier.

Cmmg mk4 rifle, I use that method to load all .22 mags.

The issue is with the follower angle, as you load the mag the angle from the mag feed lips increase adn by the time I have 16+ in the mag the 2nd round down is presenting to the feed lips and the top round is too high. If you then insert the mag on a closed bolt, the bolt will dent the case on opening and on closing will mash the bullet above the chamber. I've clipped and inch of spring off the one mag and this has made it marginally more reliable, but the other issues persist as to capacity and mag well clearance.

My rifle runs fine with gen 1 cmmg mags and ok with gen 2 evoskins, if they're only loaded to 15.

Do you work for CMMG?

They sound like they're giving you some grief, as I say I do tend to only load them to 20rnds and yes they are stiff, but that probably will slack off as the spring gets weaker over time.
The only time I really had problems with the rifle at all was when I first got it and only had 50rds of sub sonic to use, which obviously couldn't cycle the action. The next 1000 rounds have been CCI mini mags which seem to run perfectly. I really love the thing.

No I don't work for CMMG but I have been really pleased with it. It's a proper AR, which I like. I looked at Colt M4 (Walther) and the M&P 15-22 and to be honest they looked a bit plastic fantastic. The insides and barrel of the Colt M4 are more like a toy IMHO.

I think the Spikes and Ravens are far too much money for a .22 so in my opinion CMMG is the only choice for a tactical .22

What's the solution Rburro2? They're not going to put slots down the sides like the Walthers and M&Ps are they?.. kukkuk

As for a solution "in three weeks". how long do you think that would take to filter down to us from the US, surely anyone with stock in the UK is going to push their R3s until they run out? (months I suspect)

That's the eta on the new mags from lantac, I believe they will be around the £25.00 will work with bolt hold open thingy and are available in different colours.

I like the CMMG offering but to me they are more of a bodge than the 15-22 which was designed from the ground up to be a .22. I too didn't like the finish though so I got mine cerakoted.
