Tactical Rifle - Diggle etc

#1 Post by Grinder »

Hi Everyone,

I am after some advice about Tactical Rifle comps and starting on a budget. This year I would like to get a couple of non Home club competitions done and TR really interests me.

If any one could help me out or point me in the right direction I would be sincerely obliged as I have not ventured into this area as yet.

Best Regards,

Matt.

Just beware of confusion - in most communications TR stands for Target Rifle - prone, deliberate shooting with iron sights at 300-1000 yards in accordance with NRA rule 150 etc or ICFRA TR rules, or similar rule sets in other countries. Tactical rifle falls somewhere in Civilian Service Rifle / Practical Rifle or precision snapshooting or some of the IPSC events I think. If there is an international discipline by that name, perhaps someone could point us to its governing body?

There is nothing precision about IPSC shooting.

Your best bet is to contact the folks at Diggle. You don't need to be a member of the club to shoot the competition, just turn up with your rifle, FAC, £15- range fee and maybe another quid or 2 for the comp itself. But always best to let them know you're coming beforehand.

Thanks BamBam, I have no Rifle for this yet, Im thinking about equipment and basically wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction, I am thinking about a Remmy 700 in 308 with a 3-12X44 Scope but just want to be sure before I put in for a variation.

You might want to reconsider scope magnification.
Already a thread running on sub 1k scope.

Me personally? What have you heard?

I dunno, I've never gone more than 3 times a year.
