Re: FAC Questions
The application notes just state:
"9. You must complete parts A and B before passing the form to your referee(s) for signing."
All there is for the referee to fill in is contact details, how they know you, how long they've known you and that they've seen the rest of the form. Nothing contentious at all so I can't see a reason why they should be sent in separately. The old style forms may have been different.
I figured by sending it all in together there would be less chance of things being mislaid.
Anyway that worked for me and my certificate arrived yesterday. :shakeshout:
Let the spending commence!

Re: FAC Questions
It may have been guidance from my force that specified they sent the form in themselves, I thought it was on 201 but it's not

Re: FAC Questions
FAC only 2 weeks old and I'm thinking of a variation already!
Back in the days of my previous FAC 'one for one' variations used to be free.
Is this still the case? Avon & Somerset if that makes any difference.

Re: FAC Questions
Ta very much. Just checking as a local gunshop said otherwise.
Re: FAC Questions
I've just been looking at Form 202 (Variation) and it only appears to let you increase the number if firearms held or dispose of one you own. There doesn't appear to be the option to exchange one slot for a different calibre/class which is what I think of as a 'one for one' variation'.
Is it only possible to do this when you sell something?
Rob.

Re: FAC Questions
Just write in the disposal box the slot you want rid of and in the accquire box the firearm you want to accquire? Thats what i did anyway and i got the variation through

Re: FAC Questions
Just include with the form a letter explaining what you want, that should sort it.

Re: FAC Questions
Hi folks got a bit of a strange question to ask but hear goes.
A good friend of mine has a firearm locked away at his local RFD as his licence expired but he doesn’t want to sell the gun and is hoping to sell/give it to me once I have received my FAC.
The gun is a .22 and .410 combination gun over and under. I would also like to own this gun but I have no land to shoot on as I just target shoot and have no intention yet of shooting any quarry.
So my question is will the firearms licencing officer grant me this gun? Will target shooting be a good reason for possession?
I will also be applying for this on my first application for a firearm and not a variation.
Any advice would be appreciated thanks. sign92

Nope, no chance. What you need to do, is give it to me for safe keepingJoe Pugh wrote:Hi folks got a bit of a strange question to ask but hear goes.
