Anyone have a Marlin 1894 chambered for .357 / 38 special for sale?

In all honesty, if at all possible, I would wait, possibly a year or so, maybe longer. The price of "JM" marked Marlins have gone through the roof. You're now seeing people trying to pass off good ones for over a grand!

The rumour within the collectors association is tha Remington have just employed a load of ex-Marlin craftsmen who they sacked a few years ago when production was moved out of New Haven. Proper Marlins on the market again should see the prices and availability come back to normal.

Have you tried the likes of Gunstar and Guntrader - there's normally a few there.

Don't discount the Rossi version, either. They are not as pricey as a Marlin or a Winchester, but they are excellent quality for the money.

new ones should be back on the market in about 2-3 months I understand, and to be fair, any issues in internal quality of finish etc are usually taken care of when you strip and slick it, polishing and tidying it up etc

blimey I havent seen them priced as high as a grand, but if someone wanted to pay that then I got a nice scoped 357 LOL

if you want it for gallery rifle shooting then stick with the marlin, dont go rossi, I looked at the Henrys, lovely rifles but the tube mag was the problem for me

winchesters are nice guns but I dont like them for the short fast stages of matches like the 1500 etc

they are about, I paid £425 for a nice .357 about 4 months ago.

There's a Marlin Cowboy in .357 on Gunstar now and he wants 1200. A couple of months ago, there was an 1894 CP where they wanted 1250. That one sold quickly.

Don't get me wrong, my current investment in Marlins could pay off. I have 17 and another in the pipeline. But, if prices continue to be artificially inflated, who on earth will be able to afford them....?

SYSS brought some 2nd hand Marlins from the US. Some were at Bisley. Might still have them but they will be dear.
