In all honesty, if at all possible, I would wait, possibly a year or so, maybe longer. The price of "JM" marked Marlins have gone through the roof. You're now seeing people trying to pass off good ones for over a grand!

The rumour within the collectors association is tha Remington have just employed a load of ex-Marlin craftsmen who they sacked a few years ago when production was moved out of New Haven. Proper Marlins on the market again should see the prices and availability come back to normal.

You're right about JM stamped Marlins. I bought an unfired brand new Marlin 1895 GBL .45-70 JM stamped that I imported from the states earlier this year. Will sell at some point next year but try buying that in the UK.

Thinking about it, maybe I should have put down a .44 instead of a .357
I've seen quite a few and at decent, non inflated prices.

I'm not buggering round with another variation. It took long enough to get it back the first time.

Ive just heard that its about 3 to 4 weeks till uk stock appears. This will give you option of a new one but also drop the 2nd hand prices of any that are around

Case in point. Four years ago you'd have been lucky to get 400 quid for it, 350 would have been it's mark....
