My s.u.i.t scope
Here is my latest addition, its a ex british army suit trilux scope 4 power. They normally have the reg plate on them with the year, but most were taken off to be sold to us civvies. So has a repro sticker on the side.
Anyhow, optics looks sharp, the led that lights up the point is long gone, but can be fixed.. not that I will be shooting at night anyway, looks as though it has had a refurb re paint, no way it can look that glossy and be over 30 years old !
Basically just given the game away on what my next rifle will be....... :>

Re: My s.u.i.t scope
Hmm.... nice. I know of only two more and both are dusty paperweights on peoples desks which seems like such a shame. (BTW the wanted add for L1A1 furniture was also a bit of a give away!)
What happened to that 5.56x45 project of yours, I have not seen anything posted about in ages.

My m16 veitnam project ;The longest project in the world known to man you mean ?
It is at a gunsmith who was about to anodize it in colt grey as some of it had to be machined to look the part, then she will be ready. Please note I bought the gun through C&G a year ago, not fired a single round out of it yet !
The l1a1 will be ready in two months, speaking of projects, you had an old mauser with no rec markings , what happend to that ?
Re: My s.u.i.t scope
This is why they are called projects, if they happened same day they would never be any fun.dirtbag wrote:My m16 veitnam project ;The longest project in the world known to man you mean ?

The Mauser had to be canned after the FEO rang up one day to admit he had missed how many firearms we had between us! So we downsized slightly by selling off the Zombie and mouse guns. In fact it has been fairly quiet for us acquisition wise but the Biathlon project rifle is starting to take shape in principle and I spoke to Stuart on Saturday and he has agreed to build the rifle for us. Happy days, I cannot think of anyone I would rather have chamber a rifle for us.
The new build will be a bit of an oddity for us as it will have a factory chamber

Excellent, biatholon rifle eh, never heard of anybody doing that. You really gonna ski with it on your back ?
Re: My s.u.i.t scope
Hehe.. Nope, I have never skied in my life, that is the Vikings thing. The Biathalon stock is actually a good universal form for three position shooting and add the 6.5X47 Lap and it should make for a lightweight rifle that is quite capable at 300m with low recoil and good accuracy.dirtbag wrote:Excellent, biatholon rifle eh, never heard of anybody doing that.
