An interesting new company
http://www.m1garand.co.uk. Stumbled upon this website yesterday, it seems they have plans for a whole array of military SP's, built and proofed in europe, plus importing Springfields from the States...early days, but it looks like a very interesting endeavour! I will be watching with great interest!

Advertising stuff he does not have.
Well, in the case of the SVD anyway.
I happen to know that due to political issues at the moment, any new orders for Russian straight-pull rifles will take a long time to process. And I happen to know that the factory don't bother exporting to UK unless you are taking 10 at a time. AT LEAST 10 !!
However, when I sent an enquiry, he would have been happy to take a deposit and "order one in for me" wtfwtf

Hi Huntervixen,
If you mean Oakrise arms then forget it I sent them several e-mails and phoned at least 3 times to leave a message heard nothing back, I even posted on Gun shops to see if anyone had heard or knew of them no reply to my post.

Evening Bnz (give you a call in the morning mate) .....Oh dear, it looks like this is another dead end then, given your and Beecher's negative experience!
Shame, it looked so very promising.....

Re: An interesting new company
I have had a few email replies although answers to my questions relating to money have been very vague and no pick ups of rifles seems a bit iffy. I have investigated through Kent Police and seems legit but another Kent RFD I know doesn't seem to know them.
Re: An interesting new company
This all seems a little odd, doesn't quite add up guys, 100% negative feedback so far! Bringing in SP's from Europe is a well trodden path (Anglo Custom L1A1's come to mind).
I wonder if this Company has launched the website too early, but just isn't ready to trade yet...??
If I was going to buy a SP from them, I would insist on seeing (and having a copy) of the paperwork that proves it started life as component parts or was factory built as SP.

Is this legal?http://www.m1garand.co.uk wrote:Or, depending upon the salvageable parts and your license, your old spec deactivated rifle could be used to re-manufacture that 'ornament' into the real thing!
Arming the Country, one gun at a time.
Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

Depends entirely what it is, Sec1 bolt action etc deacs, no problem from a legal standpoint, but the likes of the L1A1 would revert to its original Sec5 status...(once a Sec 5 always a Sec 5, and so on)Mattnall wrote:Is this legal?http://www.m1garand.co.uk wrote:Or, depending upon the salvageable parts and your license, your old spec deactivated rifle could be used to re-manufacture that 'ornament' into the real thing!
It would have to be a very early (pre 1988) deac that had an unmolested receiver and bolt body in good shootable order, (in the case of an Enfield anyway).

Re: An interesting new company
As far as I am aware KalashnikovConcern will only deal with one dealer in the UK, and he's been waiting at least 18 months for SVD/SVDS's to arrive so I don't see what chance anyone else has got to bring them in, unless they go through someone like Waffenschumacher in Germany but they are probably in the same boat due to KalashnikovConcern being up to their eyes in military orders so the civilian stuff has taken a backseat, plus the fact that straight pull variants are such a tiny part of their production they have probably said sod it with all the sanctions and all.
It could be a long time before we see more Saigas etc coming from Russia :-(
