Spoke to Mark about 3 weeks ago as I really want a BAR22, he told me that he would not be making anymore this year or next year. If you know he's changed his mind then please let me know as I'll be back on the phone to him ASAP
I spoke to him a few days ago so I would call him if I were you.

They make a nice rifle, although I think you should go for the longest rail you can fit. IIRC my rail is 13.2", it's a good look if you ask me!

Well I won't be putting an order in until at least January so I'll have some time to go over stuff, I think I might ask Paul when i put the order in if he'll have some Lantac rails around (providing I go that route) if I can see how it look with the differing lengths on. I doubt it'll be too much work to swap them over when it comes to picking the rifle up... (fingers crossed)...

Then i can decide at the time which one fits the rifle best...

How much stuff do you really need bolted to a rifle anyway.

Since when did flexibility to move stuff about become about putting as much stuff on as possible....

I just like options... the whole idea of these types of rifles is supposed to be the flexibility. Why would you drop one of the most adaptable pieces to have something that is limited by comparison...? kukkuk

We will have our new rail available early 2015.

I have a AR-15 22lr from cmmg and the accuracy fantastic for a semi auto, its got a heavy barrel, ive put a lighter trigger in it, a target scope that has just got one dot as a retical, and it loves SK Standed plus, shooting of a bi-pod at 25yrd what ever you aim at you will hit, as long as you do your bit, at 50yrd the bull would look like that double tap above, I also shoot a walther target rifle for benchrest, the walther will do the job a lot easier than the AR, but my AR is my smile rifle, I never go to the range without it, a semi auto will never be as accurate as an out & out target rifle but you can make it very close.

Since I don't think it was reeeaaaalllly very fair showing the "best" groups of my HK416 with minimags, I did a bit of a better effort tonight using what ammo I had left over (in dribs and drabs) so here's a few groups of some ELEY sport which is what we use as entry level stuff at our club, and also what I THINK was some ELEY Club (orange box?) That I bought a long time ago but was re-boxed into a minimags slide box for ease of fitting in my ammo safe...

Here goes:

Firstly, the card: a NSRA 2510 BM/89 "Ten Spot"

Image

I was shooting groups of 5 shots on each diagram (Except for the mini mags on the bottom mid-left diagram, hopefully Obviously, and also the 3 random shots in the middle.... It's been a stressful evening and I had 3 rounds over a full 5 shot group in one box, sue me :p )

Right, we started with what I think was Eley Club.

These were the top picks of the 4 x 5 shot groups I put up.

Image
very first group, no cleaning from minimags last time I shot the rifle, not too shabby... it opened up on the next group but came back together

Image
If it wasn't for the flyer in my final group on this one would have been a very tidy group from this ammo... The limitation seems to be more in the trigger when putting the effort in, a lot of shots get pulled off...

Then onto Sport:
Image
Again, no cleaning, straight onto the next diagram after re-stocking a mag with Sport. No Zero Adjustment.

Image
A little more concentration and the group closed up a little more... couldn't get the spot though, everytime I pulled off left or right very slightly...

Image
Quite literally, no idea what happened here, a 5 shot rapid fire, as soon as the recoil relaxed I fired the next round all 5 in one breath, not a bad group, really...

So as you can see, I can get half decent accuracy from the HK416D when I try and use the correct ammo, but realistically, sure I'm still using entry-level ammo, but it's not going to get MUCH better from here on out...
I want something that will put even the best of these groups to shame...

That means a good trigger, in a solid rifle, with an accurate barrel and a consistent bolt...

Hopefully I can get that... fingerscrossed

We hope you've enjoyed the show, I've been your host, Shooty McGee....

Goodnight!
