Checking in
Hi
I'm new here ;-) Awaiting my FAC visit before I can really be a full bore member.
I got back into shooting a few years ago after a twenty odd year break.
My home club is Harrow Rifle & Pistol Club which is mainly a .22rf club but with enough Bisley affiliations that members get a few days a year there to fire centrefires. I've also recently joined the NRA.
As a teenager I shot shotguns at vermin on the neighbours farms for vermin control as well as at rabbits and ducks for the table. I was also a member of the FCA (Ireland's equivalent to the TA) where I fired centrefires .303 SMLE, Bren, 9mm Carl Gustav, 9mm Browning etc.
I moved to the UK over a quarter of a century ago and at the time expressing an interest in firearms was not a great idea for a young Irishman so I put shooting aside for many years. Three years ago I started shooting rimfire again at HR&PC.
I'm now hoping to get my DSC1 this year and am keen to broaden the range of my shooting sports.
Looking forward to becoming part of this online community.
