Desert shooting trip

#1 Post by rufrdr »

Traveled out past Barstow near the USMC supply depot in Yermo for some desert shooting. Three friends and lots of firearms. Temps in the mid 80s but the wind was easily 40mph for much of the day. The wind was face on and we would 'weathervane' as it changed direction slightly and we stood (or sat) facing into the wind. Everything was cleaned up at the end of the day and the dirt raked for spent casings.

Sorry, I'm based in Southern California and don't know the ranges in AZ and NV. I know of a 800 yd range near my house in Southern California. Where we were set up you could easily have done a 1,000 yd shot if you wanted!
