So last night at the club one of the old boys got out the 'disc shoot' boards - black backing boards with lots of panel pins banged in at an angle. He then proceeded to attach various sized chalk discs ranging from maybe 5cm diameter to 1cm diameter. And then told me to shoot them all off as quickly as possible...
It was great fun - I did two boards, didn't miss a shot and got through them pretty sharply. When I left the firing point the club coach said "we should fix those polos to the centre of your league cards" ... He's not wrong.
I'm assuming it's just a once a year fun thing that the club does, not anything that's shot anywhere more regularly? I only joined the club last summer so it's new to me. Shooting faster seems to be something I am better at - are there any other disciplines or competitions that would suit this sort of shooting?
Anyway, it was ace. I didn't even mind sweeping up afterwards :)

Re: Disc shoot
Small bore time limit, 90 secs to shoot effectively a standard card and then 60 secs to shoot at a series of ovals on a card, get off as many as you can. Was popular when I first started smallbore (good shots in my club at the time would score a ton and 14/15 hits on the ovals) good fun and there were leagues for it. Not shot at my current club, not sure why.

Mini-rifle/LBF (long barrelled firearms inc .22 rifles and long-barrelled pistols and revolvers) leagues ran by the UKPSA up and down the country and the vast majority of matches don't require you to be a UKPSA member (or member of the club they're held at). Basically PSG but with .22 firearms
