Posting of negative comments in the Gunshop section could bring unwanted criticism on the forum, having said that it is important to let members know if dealings with a Gunshop were less than ideal for you. To that end we will allow what will be known as the 'Scotsgun Ruling'

The Scotsgun Ruling:

"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."

Beyond that please take it up with the Gunshop, if you do resolve the issue in a agreeable manner let us know!

MDT Corp. Canada

Having bought a nice T3 in an MDT TAC21 stock (thanks Pe4king!) I discovered the Aics mags weren't a great fit having around 2mm vertical "slop" which with the magazine in its lowest position caused feeding to be a bit temperamental.

I contacted MDT who immediately sent me another mag catch lever, and a spare spring, mounting pin and a temporary pin to use when fitting it into the chassis, this arrived in about 5 days but unfortunately didn't cure the problem. However, it did give me a spare catch so I took a Dremel to the original!, roughed it up then added 3mm of structural epoxy (Milliput) to it, then filed it to fit, job sorted.

Meanwhile the nice chaps at MDT went above and beyond and had 3 new catches specially made, one each at +1 +2 and +3mm above the original length. They arrived today (6 days from Canada) and again each came with all the extra hardware for fitting.

Outstanding service and a joy to deal with :good:

I too have an MDT Tac21 for Tikka T3 - mine holds a .300 WSM T3.

I bought mine direct from MDT in Canada this time last year. I've had no problems whatsoever with mine - I have 2x Accurate-Mag 3rd WSM AICS mags and 1x Alph Industries 7rd WSM mags all of which handles well.

What make of AICS are you using Jeff? I have 2 of MDT's own 10rd .308 mags and they do not work well in my .308 Tikka T3 which is in a KRG X-Ray chassis. I'm currently awaiting 2x Accurate-Mag .308 10rd AICS mags without binding plates.

I have one of the MDT 10 (9 really) round polymer mags and a steel one make unknown, both have the same amount of play. They did say they knew of an LSS chassis owner who had the same problem.

I must admit I don't like the Aics mags at all, they are a pain in the butt to load compared to my Steyr SSG-04 mag and even the original polymer Tikka mag loads easier.

Where did you get your X-Ray chassis?, I have a nice new T3 in 308 that needs something more adjustable than the standard stock.

No, someone (not naming names) was here today and wants the existing polymer T3 stock so I have to buy another one or he'll be so disappointed :)

I bought my X-Ray in November last year from Gary Costello of March Scopes - it also has the add-on Spigot Mount from KRG.

Here's my .308 T3/X-Ray pictured a couple of weeks ago. It has since lost the Swarovski PVS6-24x50P scope (which is now on my .300 WSM T3/Tac21)
and gained a Nightforce 5-25x56 ATACR in its place. The bipod is an LRA F-Class.

My son has just bought an X-Ray this week from Vertebrae.no at a considerable saving even after tax, shippin etc. His X-Ray will be ging onto his .223 T3 Sporter.
