Detailed photos and measurements of NRA 'Imperial' GGG 155 grain .308

Tomorrow we'll see how it shoots...

Interesting that it's not .308Win.

Haven't seen commercial 7.62x51 ammo for a long time. Coincidentally I have just been reloading some Lapua brass headstamped 7.62x51, from ammo originally purchased from the NRA in the early 90s I think.

The GGG was set to produce NATO standard ammunition for their armed forces so their case forming machines will be designed to make 7.62 x 51 not .308 Winchester.

Just back from an exhausting session at the range. Part 2 has some more info, and includes chronographic comparison with RUAG.

Very interesting thanks.

I tried some on Sunday - I don't shoot as well as yourself, but I shot a respectable (for me) 48 at 600...and taking my wind reading errors out of it I thought it grouped nicely.

Now with RUAG dimensions for comparison, and relative jump.
