UK legal Kel Tec KSG
Was on Facebook on Rude Fat dog's page and he's talking about bringing in a uk legal KSG Bullpup pump. Any thoughts on how he'd do it? He's got to extend the barrel I know and the tube's too (which would have the effect of increasing capacity). It to me would be more interesting if someone could bring in the DP-12 http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/GUN-DP12.

He'd need to add 14" to it! The barrel and mag tubes could be extended easily enough, defeats the object of the shotgun imho

While they are cool guns they have little real world use over here. The whole point of them being a bull-pup design was so they're an overall small package (and offer a decent capacity while being compact enough to move with in tight spaces in a home defence situation), whacking a 24" barrel on one would not only spoil the appearance of the guns (for me anyway), it would also defeat the original idea behind the gun. After that what does it leave you, PSG/TSG? Personally i'd get tired of being the guy with the cool looking gun that finished last in every PSG comp i did with either one of them.
That said, if the coolness factor is enough for you to justify the outlay then crack on

It would look ridiculous. Alright if you really want one, but to be honest, there are better options out there for practical shotgun, etc and the modifications to make it UK legal would damage the appearance of it.
It's the old SPAS 12 problem all over again.

Just what I thought guys, the uk mods would ruin the concept before you even start.

Whilst I applaud the creativity I don't think this is a starter, for the reasons above and the fact that he may run into the "once a section 5, always a section 5 (usually)" issue. Ruger won't do a UK-specific run; look what happened with the straight pull Mini-14 and LBR Redhawk once Ruger snr. passed away.

Pointless. As Outsider said, it's the Spas 12 all over again.
(I wouldn't buy one even it's original form anyway!)

Incidentally one comment on the FB post, suggested it would make more sense to bring in the CMR-30 as a uk legal rifle http://www.keltecweapons.com/our-guns/cmr-30/rifle/
A 22mwr with a nice capacity magazine. Might need the stock extending or a brake welding on as at its shortest its 22.7 inches, so needs an extension to be uk legal. Would make more sense too.

I thought the dispensation for semi auto rifles in the UK only extended to 22lr? Am I wrong?
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
