I read about this a few weeks ago do like the quote "Alliant Techsystems has indicated that the rifle may later use bullets with smaller explosive charges which will stun opponents rather than killing them"

....but until then the specifications are:

* Caliber: Low-velocity 25 x 40 mm grenade.
o Thermobaric
o Flechette
o Training
o High-explosive airbursting.
o Non-lethal

Hope it works and is widely deployed. USD24 a pop does not seem so bad either.

Useful, but expensive.

And it is bound to get into the wrong hands.

Remember what happened to the Kursk when Russia tried to sell the VA-111 Shkval to the Chinese? Let's hope they didn't or there may be some surprises in the Yellow Sea this week.

Anyone else noticed that the American soldier in the diagram is shooting at someone with an SA-80 :? :roll:
