For me the smith mags is one of the reasons TO use a catch 22. Easily the most reliable, sturdy and easy to load .22 AR mags out there.

No BHOA to fall out, nothing to lose, the spacers come with the catches. Flawless bolt hold open after over 8,000 rounds through my CMMG (early one).

Great combo.

Btw do you really believe a semi .22 of any make could shoot 150 k rounds with no stoppages, I call bs.

The real thing? What, a direct gas impingement .223? If not, it's just like the Smith, a training/fun gun.

As for the 150K rounds, I remember him saying they had two Smiths and had gone through 150K rounds. One of them had allegedly not had a stoppage. I'll try and find the post and link it.

But in all honesty, I've got around 5K through my Smith and of around the Alf a dozen only stoppages it has had, they were all ammo related. Solved with a quick tap, rack, bang, with the errant round going off with a second strike. Call BS on one not having a stoppage after chewing through an enormous amount of ammo, yeah it could be. But just as likely it's not...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

It was amazing out at 100. Brilliant rifle that. Had to sell it when plod told me I couldn't have more than two .22's.

This is thankfully no longer the case but I do miss that rifle.

Interestingly, a new shooter from Scotland tops the GR T&P 1 National Rankings shooting an AR style Ruger 10/22.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
