If you're going to be using it for anything other than plinking, personally i'd get the A4. Its faster and 'snappier' to point for action type shooting, better balanced and you won't clatter any shooting apertures like you can with the fake moderator.

I saw an SD5 in Bob Dunkley Firearms a fortnight ago, but i don't know if it was new, S/H or even for sale to be fair. Not really helpful am i lol

Cheers fella, it is just for plinking but do like the shorter end on the a4. Does the sd5 have a shorter fake mod than the sd6.

I don't think there's a great deal in it, the Walther website gives the overall length of the SD6 as 860mm and the A5 as 838mm (with the stock extended). Although i'm not sure how that works though as they both have the 16.1" barrel (to be compliant with US legislation) and the same stock?? I think the A5 will be lighter as the its handguard is less chunky than the SD6, but then if you're buying an MP5 with a 'suppressor' it might as well look like the 'full-on' suppressed gun (i.e. SD6) Arrrggh!

I think this was another reason i went for the A4 lol

If I had one of these I'd be looking to back bore that barrel and put a real can over it.

Mind you, I seem to recall the barrel being something of a thin liner.....

Still looking.
have seen one advertised (sd6) that comes with built in working suppressor, anyone had experience with this version.
also would i be right in thinking that no extra slot would be needed for the suppressor on this.

Yep you're correct of the barrel is moderated then it's not an addition, bizarre but then so are most of the FAC rules.
