Loading Stand for Remington 1858
I am looking for a loading stand to speed up my loading of the Remington 1858 I have. It is a Nitro conversion from Anvil. I have seen them on sites from the USA - even eBay UK but will not ship to the Uk. Does anyone have one for sale or know a Uk source. I know I could make one but my woodworking skills - just ask the wife it's no no.
Re: Loading Stand for Remington 1858
Hi Seen this, but I do not remove the cylinder to reload. So need a stand that allows the whole revolver to sit upright with exposed powder chambers.

The ones I have seen are usually a hardwood such as Oak so reasonable to work with, have you considered making one yourself?

Re: Loading Stand for Remington 1858
Have you tried using the stand you are on about?
I find it far easier to load without such added complications, my revolvers and pistols stand muzzle up quiet happily against the lid of my range box and when it comes to using the rammer I find it far easier to use holding the revolver in my hand rather than jiggling with a stand.

I'm not proud of this, as you can see I am not a carpenter, aaarggh but it works. I was going to make a better one, but why bother, it wouldn't be any better!
