Hi groggy, I just had a look, I believe it's Russian and looks the same as the one on Russian military http://www.rusmilitary.com/images/bipod_ak.jpg

The legs don't fall out when fully dropped, it has two flat head screws on the barrel clamp, it also has a glossy black paint finish.
