Re: moderator
Yes...IF you have a nice mate with good lathe skills.
My 1939 Parker Hale catalogue, plus a separate P-H brochure on their rifle & pistol, full-bore & rim-fire sound moderators, both show several bushing designs.
These slide onto the rifle/pistol barrel & have a nut that locks the bushing to the front-sight assembly.
(The outer rear of the bushing was externally threaded - with a slot sufficient to allow it to slide past the sight assembly.)
The bushing shapes varied on the rifle or pistol in question - some being quite tapered internally.
For a bull barrel Model 54, the bushing would be a plain internal design with the 1/2"UNF spigot on the front for the sound moderator to attach.

Re: moderator
swmbo blocking the bookcase right now....so, as a temporary answer:
THE very beast you need...
A poor variant
Nicerer & nicerer...
Oooh - a nice wassit for one?
Wonder if my Finn M91 would like one of these for indoor use with the 70gr gallery loads?
There was a similar Maxim made adaptor for the M1903 Springfield during WW1
May yet have a model 1910/14 Maxim repro. made up for use on my M1903A4 one of these days...
Hope the above is of use?
