wanted - .223/5.56 and 7.62 once fired brass

#1 Post by bradaz11 »

well i've been given a variation for 300blk now, so starting to gather some supplies. I need some .223/5.56 brass to form into my blackouts, if anyone here is only buying and not reloading I'd be happy to give it a new home

a friend who does prop building work, has also requested, if I can get any fired 7.62 brass he'd be interested in some for costumes.

I have a few kgs of 7,62x51 here and no doubt there is a reasonable amount of 5,56 within it (Lincolnshire Wolds)

bradaz11, take a look at http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtop ... 41&t=88599 if you haven't already.

not all brass is the same, you can run into issues with case wall thickness.

I have a good few of each (are you bothered about the primer type for 7.62?). Will weigh it out.

Am happy with just getting P+P back

The 5.56 GGG brass works well after conversation to 300blk. Stick with the same brass for consistency

thanks sysreq - I had found that, but never hurts in case I hadn't :) the only issue is GGG and RG etc don't show up on it, but it's shown me to steer clear of stuff like S&B

Gareth - thank you, that sounds great, i'll PM you in a few

Swamp Donkey - that's excellent, just been offered some GGG but wasn't sure how it was thickness wise, looks like i'll get it!

When i first did mine, i made a load of 300blk from GGG, still using it now, alongside lapua stuff, and unless i try really really hard, i see no difference in accuracy between the two. The lap stuff is for where i can pick up brass, and the GGG gets used where im likely to lose some. The only negative to GGG is the initial crimp removal

I have some old Radway Green 5.56 knocking about if you'd like some? Some of it has only been fired once whereas some others have been handloaded before I changed to Lapua brass. The ones which have been used for reloaded have had the primer pocket swaged to remove the military crimp.

Send me a PM if you're interested; I will have a look when I can to see how much brass I have.
