Cutting down barrel

#1 Post by hobbesy »

I have a GSG-5 and it came with a moderator that you screw on and is the length of a drain pipe **** we had a great gunsmith near me who unfortunately died a few years back and don't really want to post the rifle and parts.

I can loose about 4 inches off the barrel as I've fitted the fixed stock, and want to know if a good engineer could cut the barrel and recrown the end (if it needs doing) and cut the mod down to fit?

Was after problems and advice or other options to do it

Cheers

Check where the proof marks are on the barrel, there has been some sneaky tendency to stick them at the muzzle end to ensure that even threading for a mod requires re-proofing,
