A friend has a Chassepot rifle which is missing its front barrel band. Could you search your junk boxes please?

Bloody hell my ears pricked up there, I thought someone wanted a complete rifle.
What is a Sapper? This versatile genius condenses the whole system of military engineering and all that is useful and practical. He is a man of all work of the Army and the public ready to do anything or go anywhere, in short, he is a Sapper.

Suggest your friend to contact http://www.cartry-arme.com/
They have a lot of original spares in stock. I'd be very surprised if they dont have what he needs .
The site is in Frog lingo but if he looks under "Pieces pour armes longues" at "Gras"

he needs either the #10 "Grenadiere" € 15
or the "embouchoir" € 25
They aslo sell the appropriate retainer springs .

There are always a lot of spares/parts on offer
