Pimping a S&W M&P 15-22

As bought, and entirely stock:

Thought a few of you might be interested in how it looks after the upgrades.

Hogue grip (so much nicer than the hard plastic original)
UTG red/green dot sight
£40 moderator (works very well with CCI subs)
Magpul style AFG
Minimalist stock (much less 'slop' than OEM)
Obligatory 'Crayola' mod lol
Larger alloy charging handle (just nicer than the plastic original)
And I do have a Troy ambidextrous bolt release but I've not fitted it yet. I believe they drop straight onto an AR receiver but foul on the .22. It needs to be bent slightly and I only want to try that once!

Loving this rifle, and so far not a single ftf or hang up. But to be fair I've only used CCI mini mag, which in my opinion is one of the best rimfire rounds.

That plinker tactical charging handle is sold and I have the Next Level Armament ambi, think you have the same one.

Nice rifle
goodjob

What magazine is that? Looks more 'AR' than 22, pretty cool.

The charging handle is a 'Tacticool22' from the US. Fortunately I have a friend Stateside who is happy to post me any bits I need. Sadly the upgrade I need most (trigger) is on the restricted list.
The prices over there in $ makes me cry a bit

Tactical Plinker 25 round mags, not made anymore, the 35 round mags are still out there, they need a loading tool to feed reliably.

What trigger you after?

Ah, shame.

Just a lighter trigger really. Iirc the standard pull is 5.5lb

The first step is a set of spring to lighten it, around £15. Andy haines sells them last time I spoke to him.

A single stage 3.5lb trigger is around £170 for a CMC, that's the one I have, flat trigger. So many have been installed It's been proven as an extremely reliable trigger for 15-22s.
There are other options, but unproven thus far.

The springs sound like a good option, £170 for a trigger seems like a lot...

Done a few bits to mine but this is how she currently sits, just need a BAD lever, Ambi safety & a decent red dot. Thinking of Vortex AR Sparc but open to ideas. She looks good with the barrel chop too but thinking of boreing out inside the hand guard & fitting a wildcat moderator so it looks even meaner.

:p

My second rifle would be a black/tan build (if I had two) I thought about it at first, but then went all black instead.

Has anyone done concrete tests on accuracy pre/post a barrel chop? I've a CMMG 16" I'd like to bring down to 12...
