The only .22 I own cost me £10 out of a scrap bin. I can not remember the last time I shot it.

I like my Sako Finnfire P94S - Unfortunately it's a Sako with a wooden stock :(

The OP has specifically said that he doesn't want a Sako.

I love my CZ455. I have the heavy barrel model with the thumbhole stock but as mentioned they do a synthetic stock too.
All I've done to it is fit a lighter trigger spring and it's the only gun I use for offhand shooting now. Fantastic gun. gunlike

Or a wooden stock .dromia wrote:The OP has specifically said that he doesn't want a Sako.
Thereby ruling out the finest 22rf ever built (P94s) which leads me to conclude he's a fool .

The problem appears to be that many of the membership on here seem to have taste and have original Finnfires!dromia wrote:The OP has specifically said that he doesn't want a Sako.
It seems to me that he's being let in to a well known secret, whether he chooses to act on this is up to him.
I will however present an alternative - the Ruger 77/22, the other 'grown up persons' rimfire.

Given that the OPs objective was target shooting, why would he choose a hunting rifle?tackb wrote:Thereby ruling out the finest 22rf ever built (P94s) which leads me to conclude he's a fool .
Surely the right answer is a dedicated target rifle - ie heavy barrel, single shot...
I've just picked up an aluminium stocked Feinwerkbau that would do the job lovely for not much more than a new Sako. At the other end of the scale my £100 Anschutz 64 has brought me a couple of possibles on a 10-spot card...wood stock though.

I have two of them - one used for benchrest comps where it frequently achieves maximum scores. This is based on the Range version1066 wrote:I like my Sako Finnfire P94S - Unfortunately it's a Sako with a wooden stock :(
I also have a sporter - again used in comp and shoots better than me.
I'm after the Varmint version now to make up the set.
If you don't like Sakos your rifle is a bad one (highly unlikely) or the fault lies with you the shooter!
I have a collection of Sakos in all calibres and ALL of them are tack drivers
Purveyor of fine cast boolits.
