Forum rules
Posting of negative comments in the Gunshop section could bring unwanted criticism on the forum, having said that it is important to let members know if dealings with a Gunshop were less than ideal for you. To that end we will allow what will be known as the 'Scotsgun Ruling'
The Scotsgun Ruling:
>Add Gun Shop here<
"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."
Beyond that please take it up with the Gunshop, if you do resolve the issue in a agreeable manner let us know!
Took my 10 year old to A1 Guns near Swansea today to do some airgun shooting - she loved it and we had a really nice few hours in a very pleasent setting......
Anyway, sort of thinking about getting her her own air rifle (we borrowed one from A1s today) so had a look online as my airgun experience is very poor.
I shot a .177 Air Arms S200 this week and it was impressive at 50m and a delight to shoot, quiet with no recoil and light to handle as well. Accuracy was superb.

Quick scan of the online guide and read: "We also have expert Mike Yardley’s opinion on modern airguns."
Bugger......guess I'll have to keep looking for another guide then.......
Be careful in what you do or even say:
The law prohibits anyone under 14 from "buying, hiring or receiving as a gift an air weapon or its ammunition" and they can only shoot with full adult (over 21) supervision.
You need to buy one that she is able to use.
OR Get an FAC rated one where the above should not apply!
Polchraine - understand completely. My wife and I had a 'discussion' about my youngest shooting....end of the story is any rifle I get will be locked up in the cabinet with my guns and she'll never have access by herself until she's at least 32 years old

My wife and daughter have accepted that I will take my grandson shooting when I believe he understands the safety implications - so maybe around 8 yo. I will buy myself a nice little short stock, short LOP, lightweight 28g that he can use.
Just remember that when you buy an air rifle make sure you state that it is for YOU to own and your daughter to USE. If you do not, a dealer could rightly refuse to sell to you.

Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
God loves stupid people, that is why he made so many of them.
