Scope

#1 Post by hobbesy »

Ok here we go, I asked for a scope a year or two back and got a cracking deal on here on a Leupold so lets see if history can repeat.

I am after one of two scopes, one will be a long eye relief scout scope (or a good red dot, haven't decided which yet) to use on a .357 lever action rifle for mainly indoor shooting.

The second will be a 1-4 or 1-6 to use on a .300 blackout handi rifle both indoors (cast loads) and outdoors (FMJ)

I have about £75 - £100 to spend.

Thanks

The Simmons WTC 1.5-5x20 is an excellent scope and I have used it quite a lot on my Marlin 1894 for indoor shooting. Nice and clear and definitely a good quality optic!

There's a couple on eBay with bids of £49 and £51; I bought mine for £75 around 5 years ago.

I have a Whitetail Expedition 1.5 x 6 x 32 that I am considering selling on.
These were made in the Philippines and are said to be better quality than the Classic.
It is very sharp with a duplex cross hair.

Almost bid on the first one, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132076918648? ... EBIDX%3AIT

But, the markings on the rear of the zoom power ring don't match any of mine and the Model No. and Philippines SC printing are missing from the bottom. Probably one of the later chinese versions :(

The second one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/simmons-scope ... Sw9GhYi15H

It isn't a WTC it's a Pro-Diamond model :(
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)

These are the two I have been watching as well, think I'll leave the second one alone. Thanks

To be fair, as it was my post and I'd asked for a scope and one was offered. Etiquette would dictate I get the first refusal. Wonder what the general thought it?
