I bought some HC3Rs for my 96/22. They seem good but I've only used 'em a couple of times, so far.

Ordered from Brownells but that HC3 mag does look interesting, may get a few of those also!

If'n you do, don't bother with the speedloader box (https://riflemags.co.uk/hcmags-hc3r-speedloader-box/); I can load the clips (not really "stripper clips" as they are part of the magazine) straight out of the plastic CCI Minimags box without actually touching the rounds at all.

The only slight issue that I have is that clipping the clips onto the mag body is a bit harder than I'd like and, when I practised loading with one box of CCI, I found that constantly clipping the clip in damaged the bullets. However, that clip of ammo had been clipped in and out a fair few times so perhaps it'd not normally be an issue.

The other nice things is that cleaning should be a doddle since, when the two halfs are parted, all the "fiddly bits" are captive - nuffink flies around the room. (This may be true of the BX25 as well - I only have HC3Rs at present and nothing else to compare 'em with.)

Have fun.

Mark.

The BX25 is easy to clean also, because it works with a coil spring:

It's a doddle. The HC3R uses a similar spring but is more complicated inside.

When I got my 96/22, I wasn't sure whether it'd *take* box mags and a friend loaned me a 15-round and 25-round box mag to try out. They *fitted* but, when I went to actually *load* them at the range, I found that I no longer had the strength and dexterity to load 'em. :(

Of course, you can get speed loaders but, having spotted the HC Mags products, I decided to try those.

As I said, I've not yet tried the HC3Rs other than to make sure that they *work*. I break things - anything, anytime, anywhere. It'll be interesting to see if the HC3Rs - or BX-25s, for that matter - stand up to *serious* use by Captain Chaos...
