TIKKA T3X Super varmint stock options.

#1 Post by Alpha1 »

Ok when I get bored shooting it with the standard stock what would you recommend I swap it into.
Can you get 6.5x55 ten round magazines for the TIKKA T3X Varmint if so where do I get them from.

Magazines are not cheap...

Stocks - plenty of choice depending on what you fancy. The GRS Berserk is ergonomically excellent and available for £350 if the black look is your thing:

Failing that it's a fairly common inlet so it's likely most types will be available. If you fancy something custom then Steve at Parmoor in Leeds will be able to help - I had an Anschutz benchrest stock made by him that was very nice and not much money at all.

It depends what you're looking for. Tactical or precision 's shooting? Wood or plastic?

GRS offer some nice wood stocks and also some plastic/metal chassis of different prices.

KRG offer a couple of chassis systems, with March scopes being the importer. Cost around £500, used to have one on my T3 and it was very nice indeed (sold the T3 in the end with the chassis).

MDT also offer a plethora of stocks, mostly aluminium based. There are simple systems for light rifle builds and also some heavy weight systems with built in rails etc. These systems are barebones so you need to buy your own pistol grip and rear butt pad, good news in that they are based on AR-15 parts so there is a massive amount of choice. There are a couple of importers in the UK bringing these systems from Canada (OEM) but you can order directly from the OEM too. I bought the Tac21 system for my Remington 700 with Norwegian company Vertebrae (there were import charges by the way) and they were excellent to deal with. They inlet for the T3 systems.

What I'm not quite sure on is whether the receiver footprint of the T3x is identical to the standard T3. If so, then all the above will work well, if not, then you will need to check with the above companies to see if their systems will take the T3x.
