Russian AKM Rear sight for PBS-1 Supressor / various handloa

I have an uncommon Izhmash pbs-1 rear sight for sale. Elevation, windage and ammo weight adjustable.

This is a specialized Russian rear sight leaf, designed to use 7.62mm subsonic ammunition with the PBS series suppressor. Not only is the sight adjustable for windage, but it has a secondary adjusting wheel for the low-power subsonic ammunition fired when the sound suppressor is mounted to the rifle.

These original Soviet issue Kalashnikov sight leaf assemblies were made in the 1970's for use by SPETsNAZ forces on specially outfitted AKM and AKMS rifles equipped with the PBS and PBS-1 "Silent Fire Device." . The PBS series of silencers was used in Afghanistan by special forces units and the special low velocity ammunition designed for it made it necessary for a unique, multi-functional sight to be developed. This leaf assembly has an indexed tumbler style elevation adjuster at each end of the fully windage adjustable tangent beam. The leaf sight is index marked on top for the standard 7,62x39mm cartridge (to 1,000 meters), while the reverse side is calibrated for the special subsonic round out to 400 meters. It is marked with Russian proofs and stamped with the famous "arrow-in-triangle" arsenal code of the Izhevsk plant

All knobs turn and fixate as they supposed to, additional dials on the side knobs are for fine tuning for bullets with different weight. Since PBS is only used with Subsonic ammo with heavy bullets(200Gr.), switching back to regular ammo (124Gr) becomes a problem since this ammo will follow a different trajectory. These irons are the solution for this problem. Once soldier zeroed his rifle for subsonic ammo with PBS attached, he supposed to take off the silencer and re-zero it for M43 (124 grain) ammo. But while zeroing it for M43 ammo, he supposed to use only the (additional) knobs to compensate for trajectory and not to touch the front post again. Then he supposed to memorize the value on the knobs... Aside from obvious collector value, these are very useful for civilian use when considered all different ammo that is available in this caliber
