barrel cleaning?
This may sound a daft question but having just bought my first bolt action rifle .223, I bought some patches and solvent for cleaning the barrel. The patches are small round ones? (I didn't take much notice at the time) How do I use them? When I had pistols I used to have a jag on a rod that I wrapped a square patch from a roll around to achieve this but I am at a loss as to how to use these round ones?? Can anyone help a novice?

Re: barrel cleaning?
You need one of the pointy jags.... they fix on your cleaning rod and they have a spike on.. you poke the point throught the patch.

If you have a Parker Hale rod you will also need an adapter.

Re: barrel cleaning?
I have to admit, most of my rifle cleaning is a couple of pulls through with a bore snake, with Froglube on the last section.
Once in a while, I do go the whole hog and use the Solvent, PB brush and multiple patches
