Steel ball

#1 Post by Sim G »

Looking for a 1” diameter steel ball, (or some other suitable material)but prefer steel for weight and finishing, that’s been drilled and threaded, so I can use it as a bolt handle. Seen a couple advertised in the US, but they don’t want to reply to emails, never mind ship to the UK!

Cheers

You can buy the balls on Amazon, not too big a job to drill & tap.

You are really going to struggle drilling and tapping a ball bearing! Do make sure whatever you buy is not ultra hard.

Vital-Parts will send you a free sample of the item you're interested in. Handy if you're only interested in the one item.

See if you can find a model Engineer with one of these.
