Bolt action 7.62 x 39

#1 Post by andrew375 »

What choices out there are there for a bolt action chambered in 7.62x39? An added complication, it has to be left handed.

The only ones I've seen are the AIA Enfield types. Not sure they do a lefty though, your best bet may be custom.

CZ make a 527 chambered in 7.62x39 but I don't know if they make lefty variants.

Ruger Ranch might be an option, can't see if they do it in LH though.

Any particular reason it must be left handed?

It could be for a left handed shooter?

I'm left handed and all my bolt action rifles (and shotgun) are right handed. Just intrigued why it must be LH.

We have one that we could be tempted to part with, plus around 500 rounds of 7.62x39

Right handed though....

Thanks for the replies, they've been helpful.

am l/handed and I amfed up with making do with r/h actions. I have three l/h action rifles and for serious work the limitationsof trying to make do become obvious.

The Mini-14 is right handed and tried a straight pull Garand but it means tugging the operating handlewith my littlefinger rather than first and fore finger if I was right handed, and after 5 rounds my finger was in agony. Obviously this also counts out any of theAK variants and those SKS's that were around a couple of years ago.
